Our students receive a core educational program that addresses the learning outcomes of the Integrated Resource Package (IRP-BC Curriculum) as prescribed by the BC Ministry of Education. An individual education plan (IEP) is put in place for each student, developed by the classroom teacher with input from the student’s Orton-Gillingham tutor, and in collaboration with parents. Development of the IEP could include consultation with one or more of our specialists: speech and language pathologist (SLP), psychologist, and occupational therapist (OT). The IEP process starts with assessment of an individual student’s ability and performance, and customizes instructional strategies and resources to address the child’s strengths and needs. Parents are key players in this process as they know their child best, and can offer feedback and insights into their child’s specific learning style.
